NBSC SHOWCASES RESEARCH-DRIVEN EXTENSION INITIATIVE AT 2026 PAEPI X REGIONAL CONFERENCE
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) participated in the 2026 Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc. (PAEPI) X Regional Extension Conference and General Assembly on April 28-30, 2026, at the Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) Convention Hall in Tangub City. This event brought together extension practitioners, researchers, institutional leaders, and partner stakeholders from across the region to advance collaborative and impact-driven extension work.
Anchored on the theme, “From Knowledge to Impact: Strengthening Regional Extension for Inclusive and Sustainable Communities,” the conference highlights the critical role of extension in translating academic knowledge into meaningful community transformation, while strengthening partnerships and promoting evidence-based, development-oriented initiatives.
NBSC was represented by Mr. Alven L. Gomez, MSEST, Director of the Community Extension Services Division (CESD). During the conference, the College presented its extension initiative titled “Infrastructure as a Peace Dividend: Assessing Client Satisfaction in the 52nd Engineer Brigade Operations in a Post-Conflict Community.” Mr. Gomez also acknowledged the incredible team whose collective effort contributed to the completion of the project.
The study was conducted with the support of NBSC leadership—College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE; Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa; Vice-President for Administration and Finance John Kevin A. Artuz, MS; and Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID) Director Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa—in partnership with the 52nd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.
By presenting its study, NBSC highlights how research-informed extension efforts can contribute to peacebuilding, support inclusive development, and lead to sustainable improvements in post-conflict areas. In doing so, the College affirms its role in producing work that not only examines real issues but also helps guide meaningful action where it matters most.
