NBSC SUL₂IP-BECED CELEBRATES NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MONTH WITH INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TURNOVER TO CDCS IN GUILANG-GUILANG, SANTIAGO, AND MALUKO
In the spirit of volunteerism and bayanihan, the Institute for Teacher Education (ITE) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), through its flagship SuL₂IP (Sustainable Learning and Linkage to Isolated Places) Extension Program, distributed locally developed instructional materials and crayons to its partner Child Development Centers (CDCs) in Santiago, Guilang-guilang, and Maluko, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on December 10, 2025.
Aligned with NBSC’s institutional support for National Volunteer Month under Memorandum Circular No. 01-2025, the initiative reinforces the college’s continuing commitment to community upliftment through faculty, student, and collaborative outreach activities.
The instructional materials, created by second-year Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) pre-service teachers, include manipulatives and visual aids, along with assorted crayons provided through the Extension donation. These materials are designed to support early literacy, numeracy, creativity, and holistic development. This initiative highlights NBSC’s commitment to providing context-responsive educational resources and building stronger learning foundations for children in geographically isolated and underserved communities.
NBSC-ITE and the Community Extension Services Division (CESD) express their gratitude to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office headed by Ms. Maria Cecilia C. Sajonia, as well as the barangays of Santiago, Maluko, and Guilang-guilang for their steadfast support and collaboration. Their involvement ensured that the turnover addressed the needs of both learners and childcare workers.
The project team also acknowledges the strong institutional backing of College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE; Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa; Supervising Administrative Officer Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon, MIT; Program Head and Assistant Project Leader Dr. Christine C. Royo; and CESD Director Mr. Alven L. Gomez, MS EST, whose leadership further strengthened the program’s implementation and reach.
Present during the distribution were Project Leader Ms. Noraisah U. Radaza, MA; Component Leader Ms. Rolyn Z. Baquial, MA; and core members Ms. Mary Ann Charmaine O. Tapulayan-Dumana, MA; Ms. Helen B. Ajon, MA; Mr. Jovenel B. Dadulla, MA; Ms. Dulce Amor S. Loquias, Ph.D; and Mr. Dave G. Laga, MA. Representatives from the MSWD–ECCD Unit, including Ms. Catherine U. The SuL₂IP project remains steadfast in advancing early childhood education across remote communities. Through sustained partnerships, institutional support, and the active engagement of pre-service teachers, the program aims to broaden its reach and continue providing instructional tools and art supplies that promote meaningful, inclusive, and transformative learning experiences for every child.
