NBSC SUSTAINS STRONG SAFETY STANDARDS IN SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) conducted the Fourth Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., in support of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community preparedness and resilience against seismic hazards, as mandated by Republic Act 10121, or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.
The activity, held across the NBSC campus, involved all faculty, staff, and students in a unified exercise designed to promote safety awareness and proactive emergency response.
The drill was supervised by the Campus Safety Management Office (CSMO) under Mr. John Mark L. Boyonas and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) led by Mr. Fritchar H. Gevero, in collaboration with other key personnel and support groups, including the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). Their coordinated efforts ensured the orderly and efficient conduct of the activity.
Participants practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” maneuver before proceeding to designated evacuation areas. The simulation assessed the effectiveness of NBSC’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) protocols and tested the community’s readiness in responding to emergency situations.
Mindful of the recent disasters that have affected various communities, NBSC continues to uphold its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its constituents. The institution remains steadfast in promoting a culture of preparedness, care, and resilience through sustained Disaster Risk Reduction and Management initiatives aligned with national efforts.
