NBSC’s “Cool.Lads” Exhibit: Fostering Emotional Expression Through Photography
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) is hosting its first-ever photo collage exhibit, “Cool.Lads,” at the Student Welfare and Development Center from January 27 to 31, 2025. More than just a display of student talent, the exhibit is a powerful platform for exploring and expressing emotions through the lens of a camera.
The project, a culmination of work by students in the CCS5N “Living in the IT Era” course under Mr. Jan G. Soriano, aims to highlight the importance of emotional expression in today’s digital age. Students were challenged to capture and convey emotions through photo collages, fostering self-reflection and promoting a deeper understanding of the human experience.
Mr. Soriano explained the exhibit’s title, “Cool.Lads,” noting the clever wordplay on “collage.” He emphasized that the project isn’t simply about technical skills but about using photography for self-discovery and emotional communication. The “lads,” representing the students, are encouraged to explore their inner selves and share their unique perspectives with the community.
The “Cool.Lads” Photo Collage Exhibit at NBSC is a testament to the power of art to communicate emotions, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself and others within the college community.
