Northern Bukidnon State College Welcomes New President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) embarks on a new chapter as it officially welcomes its new College President, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, during a welcome ceremony held on October 7, 2024, at the NBSC Covered Court.
The event commenced with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fernando L. Alombro, dedicated to the new president. Following the mass, the program featured a series of heartfelt welcome messages from students and faculty, alongside the introduction of student leaders, office directors, staff from both the academic and administrative clusters and institutional association officers.
Mr. Julius S. Gabinete, Faculty President, was the first to speak. He shared his admiration for President Ganiera, which he felt during her interview with the Board of Trustees prior to her appointment. Central Student Government President Mr. Dwight Ferdinand Navarro also conveyed his welcome message, pledging unwavering support from the student body and its officers.
Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, outlined three key themes for the new president: People, Purpose, and Promise. She then introduced the dedicated faculty and staff within the academic cluster. This was followed by a commitment from Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Helen E. Maasin, who introduced the directors and staff of the administrative cluster, affirming her support for President Ganiera’s vision. In a united show of commitment, all faculty and staff recited a pledge to serve NBSC and uphold President Ganiera’s administration.
The community celebrated Dr. Ganiera with presents and performances, reflecting their warm welcome. In her response, the president expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm she received. She reminded everyone—faculty, staff, and students—of the college’s mandate and encouraged them to embrace the institution’s vision, mission, goals, and core values.
Dr. Ganiera introduced the concept of “CPR,” which stands for Cleanliness, Punctuality, and Respect. She invited the community to embrace these core principles as essential pillars that foster a positive and productive environment, contributing to their collective success and a strong institutional culture.
Dr. Ganiera is the second president of Northern Bukidnon State College and has served as the president of Davao de Oro State College for eight (8) years. She was officially proclaimed NBSC’s president on October 1, 2024, following a selection process and election conducted by the NBSC Board of Trustees at the CHED Central Office, HEDC Building in Quezon City.
