PAG AMUMA Kamustahan: A Day of Nurturing Minds and Hearts at NBSC
In a powerful display of academic collaboration and emotional support, Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully conducted the PAG-AMUMA Quarterly Kamustahan for the Training of Trainers (TOT) and Teaching and Learning Assessment (TLA) in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) on July 22, 2025.
The activity opened with an inspiring message from Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, NBSC’s Research Development and Innovation Director. She reminded everyone that “no gift is too small.” Just showing up and participating was already a meaningful contribution. This was followed by Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who explained the rationale behind the event. She urged everyone to serve with purpose and not to worry about the cost. “Do not count the cost because the universe will pay you back,” she advised.
Dr. Delosa also introduced the “Locked In” technique, a focused 30-to-60-minute method designed to spark creativity during writeshops. This became one of the event’s highlights. Participants used this “Locked In” time to refine their project proposals and later presented them in an open session that encouraged feedback, collaboration, and peer support.
In the afternoon, Ms. Charry C. Grepon, the TOT/TLA focal person, delivered a heartfelt message emphasizing the importance of kamustahan sessions in cultivating a culture of care and collaboration in the academic community.
NBSC extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, College President, and Dr. Acuesa for their unwavering support and leadership, both of which remain instrumental to the continued success of the TOT/TLA initiatives.
More than just a simple catch-up, the PAG AMUMA Kamustahan was a celebration of care, connection, and commitment. It served as a living example of what it means to nurture both minds and hearts in higher education.
