Two Decades of NBSC: Advancing Education, Empowering Communities
March 26, 2025- In its second decade, Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) jubilantly marked its 20th Founding Anniversary with a grand celebration filled with pride, history, and a shared vision for the future.
The festivities commenced with an energetic parade, flooding the streets with the vibrant colors of the institution. Students, faculty, and staff proudly marched, embodying the unwavering dedication that has shaped NBSC into the thriving academic institution it is today.
Established as Northern Bukidnon Community College (NBCC), the institution has played a pivotal role in transforming lives for its students and the humble town of Manolo Fortich. Over the years, NBSC has produced a committed workforce that contributes to various sectors, extending its influence beyond local borders. Alumni now make an impact globally.
During the opening program, the contributions of past leaders and stakeholders were honored and acknowledged for their efforts in establishing a foundation for higher education in the region.
“Today, as Northern Bukidnon State College, we stand as a living testament to the continued realization of that vision. Steadfast in our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, outstanding human resource development, high-impact research, exemplary service to the profession and social engagement, as well as the establishment of 21st-century infrastructure and operational sustainability.”
The event also paid tribute to the institution’s leaders and pioneers, recognizing their dedication and unwavering efforts in making NBSC what it is today.
Dr. Raul C. Alvarez Jr., CHED Regional Director for Region VI, was the guest speaker. He inspired the students, faculty, and staff with his vision for NBSC and emphasized the role of education in shaping an empowered citizenry and a globally competitive workforce.
“No matter how much the world will hold you back, remember, students in NBSC, that the knowledge, skills, and attitudes you will learn from this institution should be enough to transform your dreams into reality. You should break the bondage of poverty and education in the only way.”
He further challenged the community to transform into a university in four years, having confidence in Dr. Ganiera’s leadership.
The 20th Founding Anniversary celebration served as a reminder of the institution’s remarkable journey. It was a commemoration of its history and a reaffirmation of its commitment to producing emotionally sensitive and value-laden students ready to contribute to society. The NBSC community celebrated its milestone, united in their shared vision of progress, excellence, and service.
