NBSC Women’s Month Celebration Culmination 2025
The culmination of the Northern Bukidnon State College Women’s Month celebration concluded with a refreshing talk on the rights and responsibilities of voters with resource speaker Ms. Gemma C. Ravelo, Election Officer VI, at the NBSC Covered Court, March 31, 2025.
The talk is relevant and timely to promoting women’s rights, especially suffrage, which was not available to women in the past. Ms.Zandra Shelly Y. Ordinan resounded to this connection in her opening message.
“The 2025 theme, Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas., reflects the resolute vision formation where every woman, regardless of background or circumstances, thrives. It envisions a bagong Pilipinas where women can enjoy rights, have equal access to opportunities, and live free from gender bias, violence, and discrimination.” she said.
Ms. Ravelo shared relevant information on voting rights and responsibilities to empower all, especially women, to participate actively in the democratic process. The discussion highlighted the significance of suffrage, the impact of votes in shaping the nation, and the duty of every citizen to make informed electoral decisions.
NBSC employees also participated in a voting dry run and orientation on how the votes are being tallied and processed up to the election returns.
In her closing message, Dr. Helen E. Maasin emphasized how Miss Gemma’s presence served as a ‘Gasa’ or ‘Grasya’ in her mnemonics of GEM (Grasya, Empowered, Matinod-anon sa Serbisyo)
“𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙖 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 [𝙨𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣] 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨.”
The program served as an inspiration to create a safe and equal environment not just for women but for all genders.
