NBSC COMPLETES FIRST QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL IN 13 MINUTES
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) participated in the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026, held across the NBSC campus. The activity brought together students, faculty, and staff in a coordinated campus-wide simulation designed to practice immediate response and evacuation procedures during an earthquake.
The exercise began with the sounding of a prolonged alarm, prompting participants to immediately carry out the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” response. After the initial protective action, individuals proceeded with an orderly evacuation, moving at a brisk walking pace through designated routes leading to the assigned evacuation area.
At the assembly point, designated personnel conducted a head count to account for participants. This was followed by the deployment of response teams for a simulated search and rescue operation, conducted alongside a fire suppression scenario. The sequence allowed campus units to carry out their specific roles while maintaining coordination throughout the activity.
NBSC completed the full process of the drill in 13 minutes, marking a notable milestone for the institution. The activity was carried out under the leadership of the Disaster Response & Emergency Action Management (DREAM) Team in coordination with the Quick Response Team (QRT), the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit, and the Campus Safety and Management Office (CSMO), whose joint efforts ensured the smooth flow of the simulation.
Through continued participation in activities such as the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, NBSC strengthens campus preparedness and promotes a culture of safety, awareness, and collective responsibility among its academic community.
