NBSC-ICS STUDENTS EARN TOP 6 PLACEMENTS AT THE ARDUINO DAY MINDANAO 2026
Three third-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) earned Top 6 placements in two major categories during the Arduino Day Mindanao 2026, held on March 25, 2026, at the University Gymnasium and Cultural Center (UGCC) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Obrero Campus, Davao City.
Representing NBSC were Kent Ryan L. Pagongpong, Erick James P. Rubin, and Mark Jovan G. Octat, under the guidance of Nilo B. Tubio II of the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS). The team placed in both the Robotics Arena (Line Tracing Competition) and the Project Showcase/Innovation Challenge.
The team approached the competition with careful preparation, reviewing guidelines, conducting repeated tests on their line-following robot, and refining the structure of their innovation project. During the event, they demonstrated their skills in programming, electronics, and robotics. They successfully executed their line tracing robot and confidently presented their project to judges and participants.
Engagement with other participants and exposure to a range of projects across Mindanao added context to their work, placing it within a broader landscape of student-led innovation, an environment where NBSC continues to take part with growing presence.
