NBSC JOINS UPLB HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP MENTORING FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) continues to strengthen its commitment to academic leadership and excellence through its participation in the Higher Education Leadership Mentoring Fellowship Program (HELMFP) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), held on April 20-24, 2026. Representing the institution, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, is among the selected fellows of the program’s third cohort, composed of 41 higher education leaders from partner institutions.
Dr. Delosa expressed her profound gratitude to NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, for her unwavering support in enabling her participation in this prestigious fellowship.
Through HELMFP, fellows were immersed in selected UPLB offices, where they gained valuable insights into academic leadership, institutional processes, and best practices that they can apply in their respective institutions. Dr. Delosa also extended her appreciation to Dr. Jenielyn Padrones, Director of the Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education (OIDHE).
As part of its growing partnership with UPLB, NBSC formalized its engagement through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) supporting the fellowship initiative.
On April 24, 2026, Dr. Delosa presented her re-entry plan, focusing on micro-credentialing and lifelong learning. The event was attended by UPLB officials and presidents from partner higher education institutions. NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, was represented by the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Mr. John Kevin A. Artuz, MS, who delivered a message highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing higher education.
The fellowship brought together higher education professionals to explore emerging directions in teaching, learning, and academic leadership. During the program, Dr. Delosa collaborated with UPLB mentors and fellows in meaningful discussions centered on strengthening instructional frameworks and enhancing curriculum design.
Dr. Delosa’s participation reflects NBSC’s continued commitment to academic excellence and forward-thinking leadership, bringing valuable insights that will further enhance curriculum development and institutional practices.
