NBSC ADVANCES TEACHER EDUCATION THROUGH BENCHMARKING AT USTP
Northern Bukidnon State College’s Institute for Teacher Education (NBSC-ITE) conducted a benchmarking activity on April 21, 2026, at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Board Room, focusing on the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Science and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) programs.
The initiative forms part of NBSC’s continuing efforts to strengthen its academic programs and align institutional practices with national standards and emerging global trends in teacher education. The benchmarking activity provided a valuable platform for meaningful exchange of best practices in key academic areas, including curriculum design, instructional delivery, practicum and internship management, student assessment, and quality assurance mechanisms.
The NBSC delegation was led by Dr. Mary Cris J. Go, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID), whose leadership underscored the College’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The activity also fostered stronger inter-institutional collaboration, reinforcing shared goals in producing competent and future-ready educators.
USTP’s College of Science and Technology Education hosted the delegation and shared its expertise through the Department of Science Education (DSEd), represented by Dr. Lowell M. Gabunilas, DSEd Chairperson, and Mr. Jason M. Madronero, Internship Coordinator. Their insights greatly contributed to the success of the benchmarking engagement.
NBSC extends its sincere appreciation to the USTP community, particularly Dr. Grace S. Pimentel, the Dean’s Office staff, department chairpersons, and program coordinators, for their warm accommodation and invaluable support in making the activity productive and impactful.
This benchmarking initiative reflects NBSC’s proactive stance in enhancing its teacher education programs and its unwavering commitment to delivering accessible, relevant, and high-quality education.
