NBSC RECOGNIZES NEW LEADERS, NEW PERSONNEL, AND OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AT MONDAY CONVOCATION
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) marked its Monday Convocation on July 20, 2026, at the NBSC Covered Court with the oathtaking of newly appointed personnel, the induction of the Central Student Government (CSG), recognition of office and individual achievements, and presentations showing professional development initiatives that strengthen the College’s academic and administrative functions.
The activity formally welcomed five newly appointed employees into their respective positions. Taking their oath were Cris Rey A. Onahon and Angelica B. Didulo as Instructor I under the Institute for Business Management (IBM); Kenn Migan Vincent C. Gumonan as Instructor I under the Institute for Computer Studies (ICS); Cris George P. Ehong as Instructor I under the Institute for Teacher Education (ITE); and Jay Shell D. Coquilla as Internal Auditor III under the Internal Audit Office.
A video presentation also introduced the nominees for the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE), recognizing employees, offices, and divisions across various award categories for their contributions and performance.
The convocation likewise featured the oathtaking of the newly elected student leaders, with Normal Tuto officially assuming the role of CSG President.
Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan, Head of the Quality Assurance Office, shared key insights from the Innovators SEAL: Future Ready Data Skills for Smarter Higher Education Systems, a 12-day capacity-building program conducted from July 6 to 17, 2026, at SEAMEO INNOTECH in Quezon City. As NBSC’s representative, Dr. Lerongan emphasized how data-informed approaches can support smarter decision-making across higher education institutions (HEIs). NBSC was among only 44 HEIs selected to participate in the program.
Meanwhile, Melven I. Valmoria, MSc, presented his experience as a recipient of the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship for 2026-2027 in Haryana, India. He outlined the fellowship’s major components, including collaborative research, innovation building, and mentorship under senior faculty members of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU). He also expressed hope that more members of the NBSC community would pursue similar international opportunities in the future.
The convocation also recognized outstanding accomplishments through the On-the-Spot (OTS) Awards. The Procurement Management Office (PMO) received recognition for the satisfactory and timely submission of the FY 2026 Final Annual Procurement Plan (APP), which secured NBSC’s inclusion in the Government Procurement Policy Board-Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO) Positive List of FY 2026 APP-Compliant Procuring Entities. Valmoria was likewise honored for his selection as a recipient of the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship, while Dr. Lerongan received recognition for successfully completing the Innovators SEAL program.
The milestones highlighted during the convocation reflect NBSC’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence, professional growth, effective governance, and student leadership. As faculty members, personnel, and student leaders embrace new responsibilities and achievements, these efforts continue to reinforce the College’s role in delivering responsive and quality higher education.
