KNOWLEDGE, VALUES, AND TRANSFORMATION: NBSC CELEBRATES 16TH COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) held its 16th Commencement Exercises on July 22, 2026, at the Manolo Fortich Municipal Gymnasium. Anchored on the theme, “Empowered by Knowledge, Guided by Values, Committed to Transforming Communities,” the ceremony celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2026 and challenged them to make meaningful contributions to the communities they will serve.
Representing CHED Regional Office X and its Regional Director, Dr. Leo D. Camposano, Dr. Rose Mae T. Lumasag formally opened the graduation rites. Upon the presentation of the graduates, College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, conferred the degrees and led the bestowing of diplomas and academic awards. She was joined by the institute heads and representatives from the Registrar and Students Records Office.
In her valedictory address, Rebemae S. Pagas, a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) student from the Institute for Teacher Education, encouraged her fellow graduates to uphold the commitment embodied in NBSC’s dictum: Creando Futura, Transformationis Vitae, Ductae a Deo (Creating Futures, Transforming Lives, Guided by God). Reflecting on her journey before entering NBSC, she reminded her fellow graduates that “Not every closed door is a rejection; sometimes, it is redirection,” emphasizing that life’s setbacks often become opportunities for greater purpose.
Delivering the Inspirational Talk on behalf of Congressman Jose Manuel “Joeman” Alba, Former Congresswoman Maria Lourdes Acosta-Alba congratulated the graduates on reaching this important milestone and reminded them that NBSC’s core values (R.A.I.S.E.: Responsibility, Adaptability, Inclusivity, Sustainability, and Excellence) should continue to guide them throughout their personal and professional lives. She then proceeded to share practical insights on financial matters with the graduates as they begin their professional careers and earn through their chosen professions.
In her parting message and benediction, Dr. Ganiera encouraged the graduates to remain humble in their successes and hopeful in times of difficulty. She then invited everyone to reflect on their shared journey before leading the NBSC community in offering their heartfelt well wishes to the graduates.
As the ceremony came to a close, the Class of 2026 officially embarked on a new chapter, carrying with them the knowledge, values, and experiences they gained at Northern Bukidnon State College. Equipped with the education and character shaped by the institution, they now move forward to serve their professions and communities with integrity, excellence, and purpose.
