NBSC, LGU MANOLO FORTICH, AND VIENOVO PHILIPPINES SEAL PARTNERSHIP FOR SUGA EXTENSION PROJECT AND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich, and Vienovo Philippines Inc., officially solidified their partnership and commitment to sustainable development and student support through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing on August 4, 2026, at the NBSC Boardroom.
The ceremonial signing was led by College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, together with Hon. Rogelio Quino, Municipal Mayor of Manolo Fortich; Ma’am Lorraine A. Riqueron, Head of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO); and Mr. Clienth Cajegas, representative of VIENOVO Philippines Inc.
The partnership formally launches two key initiatives: the SUGA – Inner Development Goals (IDGs) in Public Sector Leadership and Governance Program and the Student Scholarship Program, both aimed at fostering community development and expanding educational opportunities.
The SUGA Extension Project, implemented in partnership with the LGU of Manolo Fortich, is a six-session extension program centered on the five dimensions of the IDGs. Designed for municipal officials, barangay captains, and councilors, the initiative seeks to promote values-driven, culturally responsive, and transformative leadership in local governance.
Leading the SUGA Extension Project is Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Project Leader. She emphasized that the project reflects the College’s commitment to giving back to the local government in recognition of its continued support through extension initiatives that respond to community needs.
Complementing the extension initiative is the Student Scholarship Program, a collaborative undertaking of NBSC, the LGU of Manolo Fortich, and VIENOVO Philippines Inc. The program will provide a monthly stipend to 40 qualified student beneficiaries, prioritizing Indigenous Peoples (IPs), Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), students from low-income families, and other marginalized sectors. The scholarship will provide assistance to beneficiaries for four academic years, beginning in Academic Year 2026-2027.
The scholarship program is spearheaded by the Student Affairs Services and Development Division (SASDD) under the leadership of Director Rowena E. Bagongon, MA. She expressed her gratitude to the partner institutions for their support and emphasized the opportunities the scholarship will create for students facing financial challenges.
Through these collaborative initiatives, NBSC continues to strengthen its extension and student development efforts through strategic partnerships that respond to emerging local priorities. In doing so, the College fulfills its mandate as a public higher education institution, advancing education, public service, and inclusive development.
