NBSC-ICTMO CONSULTS STAKEHOLDERS ON PROPOSED ICT PLANS, POLICIES, AND GUIDELINES
Northern Bukidnon State College’s Information and Communications Technology Management Office (NBSC-ICTMO) held a stakeholders’ consultation on September 14, 2026, via Zoom for the proposed ICT Disaster Recovery Plan; Policy on Proper Utilization, Management, and Control of the Institutional LED Wall; Policy on the Off-Campus Use, Custody, Security, and Accountability of College-Issued Laptop; and Guidelines on Campus Vlogging. The activity was facilitated by Pablito Amor C. Gumonan.
College President Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, emphasized the value of examining the proposed policies before their approval. “While it’s true that this consultation is a requirement before these documents are approved, it provides us with the avenue to examine whether the provisions are clear, practical, fair, and responsive to actual conditions in the College,” she said. “Those who will be affected by these policies must be given the opportunity to understand them and contribute to their improvement.”
Paul John A. Labastida, Information System Analyst II of the ICTMO, presented the four documents, which outline measures for ICT continuity, institutional digital resources, equipment accountability, and responsible campus content creation. The open forum provided an opportunity to further consider the provisions and their application within NBSC.
As technology becomes part of nearly every aspect of campus operations, having clear rules in place can make its use more predictable and accountable. The proposed measures can help NBSC keep its services running, its resources properly managed, and its digital spaces respectful of the community they serve.
