The Incidence of Teenage Pregnancy in Northern Mindanao: NBSC’s Research Paper Presented at Philippine Population Association’s 2023 Scientific Conference in Iloilo City

The paper on the Incidence of Teenage Pregnancy in Northern Mindanao has been included for oral presentation under Session 4A: Promotion of Human and Social Development of the Philippine Population Association’s 2023 Scientific Conference held in Iloilo City last April 27-28, 2023.

Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, the Project Leader, and Mr. Rolan C. Mancha, the Assistant Project Leader, presented the story of Nene on the second day of the conference along with the other researchers from different universities and government agencies in the country.

The conference aims to discuss the structure and changes in the population and how these are inextricably interwoven with the achievement of the outcomes set by the Philippine Development Plan, particularly as it relates to families and individuals.

Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales, the Undersecretary of the Commission on Population and Development was this year’s guest speaker. Participants include focal persons from the Commission on Population and Development, the University of the Philippines’ Population Institute, academic institutions, and non-government organizations.

This year’s theme revolved around the population dynamics in the Philippines, opportunities, and challenges for sustainable development.
