NBSC TEP Welcomes XU SOE Student Leaders for a Collaborative Meeting on Student Formation and Development

Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – On September 20, 2023, the Teacher Education Student Leaders Assembly (TESLA) core members from Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan School of Education (XU-SOE) visited Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) for a collaborative meeting focused on student formation and development. TESLA, led by Mr. Ismael B. Salarda, Arrupe Educational Center (AEC) Director of Xavier Ateneo, engaged with the NBSC Teacher Education Program (TEP) Student Body Organization and Educator’s Club.

The XU SOE delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ermelina C. Bardilas, Director of Libraries; Dr. Christine C. Royo, TEP Dean; Ms. Rowena E. Bagongon, Student Affairs and Services Director; and Ms. Mary Ann Charmaine O. Tapulayan-Dumana, TEP SBO and Educators’ Club Moderator.

The meeting led to fruitful discussions, fostering mutual understanding among the thirty-four student leaders from TESLA, SBO, and Educators’ Club. They shared their experiences and explored collaborative opportunities, including training TEP teacher-leaders, shaping NBSC’s Teacher Leadership framework, and sharing best practices for microproject development. Small group discussions were also held, focusing on resource identification and actionable contributions to enhance student engagement.

NBSC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to XU SOE for this proactive initiative that marked a promising step toward a successful partnership and improvement of teacher education.
