NBSC Faculty CHED Scholars Complete Intensive Coaching Training at National University Sports Academy
NBSC proudly announces the successful completion of a 20-day intensive training program on Tertiary Coaching Education and Development. Held at the National University Sports Academy in Laguna from November 11–30, 2024, the training focused on Basketball and Volleyball coaching skills. The scholars, Ms. Grace P. Quiblat, Sports Coordinator for Basketball, and Mr. Anthony D. Sanchez, Culture and Arts Director for Volleyball, gained invaluable insights into advanced coaching methods and techniques.
The participants were selected to receive CHED’s scholarship under the Higher Education Upskilling and Study for Advancement of Staff and Faculty (HUSAY) Program to undertake and complete the training. The program, titled Tertiary Coaching Education and Development: A Ladderized Sports Skills Development and Training Program, was designed to equip novice coaches with the foundational knowledge necessary to thrive in sports mentoring.
Ms. Quiblat and Mr. Sanchez enhanced their coaching competencies, learning to develop effective training programs and utilize evidence-based techniques to improve athletic performance. The course included hands-on workshops, expert-led lectures, and real-game simulations, providing a comprehensive learning experience for newcomers and seasoned professionals.
