NBSC Graduating Students Join DOLE Seminar on Labor Rights and Workplace Values
Graduating students from Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) participated in a Labor and Employment Seminar held virtually via Zoom on June 25, 2025. The event was organized by the NBSC Guidance and Counseling Office in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), with Engr. Mariano O. Ibaoc, Jr. serving as the resource speaker.
As NBSC students prepare to enter the workforce, the seminar aimed to equip them with vital knowledge of labor laws, employee rights, and professional workplace behavior. Engr. Ibaoc underscored the importance of being well-informed before signing employment contracts, encouraging students to recognize their rights to fair treatment and to avoid potential exploitation.
In addition to legal awareness, the seminar also focused on soft skills essential for career growth. Topics included workplace etiquette, time management, effective communication, and developing a positive work ethicโtraits employers value alongside technical competencies.
This initiative supports NBSCโs mission of producing work-ready graduates, ensuring they have the skills to succeed in their fields and the awareness and professionalism to thrive in any workplace environment.
