NBSC Faculty Member Earns Best Presenter Award at International Conference
A faculty member from Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) has brought significant honor to the institution after being named Best Presenter at the BIMP-EAGA International Research Conference and Training. The event was held from August 26 to 28, 2025, at the Citystate Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Ms. Leah Mae S. Cuyno received the top prize in the Food Basket category for her outstanding oral presentation.
The conference, sponsored by the Philippine EAGA Higher Education Institutions Consortium (PEHEIC), is a major academic gathering that aims to foster collaboration and advance regional cooperation within the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) community.
Ms. Cuyno’s award-winning research, titled “Systemic Constraints in Northern Mindanao’s Food Value Chain: A Multi-Stakeholder Perspective,” was recognized for its insightful contribution to the conference theme of “Strengthening BIMP-EAGA Foundation on Resiliency, Inclusivity, Sustainability, and Economic Competitiveness.”
Her paper, which underwent a thorough peer-review process for acceptance, delves into critical challenges within the region’s food value chain.
