NBSC PARTICIPATES IN THE 5TH OPAPRU PEACE RESEARCH CONFERENCE
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) proudly marked its second participation in the 5th OPAPRU Peace Research Conference held on November 4–5, 2025, at the 12th Floor, Corporate Finance Plaza, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The event, organized by the Office of the President – Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), brought together peace researchers and advocates from across the country under the theme “From Insights to Impact: Bridging Research and Action for Peace.”
NBSC presented the research paper titled “Evaluation of Direct Peace and Socioeconomic Benefits of Road Projects in Conflict-Affected Areas.” The team is composed of Mr. Alven L. Gomez, Jellian Grace C. Mabale, Adonis J. Onahon, Julius S. Gabinete, and Ma. Cassandra R. Tubongbanua. This year’s paper presentation was delivered by Ms. Cristine Joy G. The study highlights the transformative role of infrastructure development in fostering peace, improving livelihoods, and strengthening social cohesion in conflict-affected areas. The NBSC research team also gained valuable insights from the various peace research presentations and plenary sessions, which inspired them to further enhance their research practices, particularly in the field of peace and conflict studies.
The team extends its gratitude to its partner agency, the 52nd Engineering Brigade, Philippine Army, headed by BGEN Jose Eduardo F. Liboon, PA, for their valuable collaboration. They also acknowledge the continued support of NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, OIC-Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Benzar L. Grepon, and Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID) Director Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa.
NBSC’s participation reaffirms its commitment to advancing peace research and contributing to national development through evidence-based initiatives aligned with the government’s peace and reconciliation agenda.
