NBSC COMMENDS WURI 2026 CONTRIBUTORS AND CELEBRATES PAPSAS BOARD APPOINTMENT
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) recognized contributors behind its entries for the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) during the On-the-Spot (OTS) Awards held on May 18, 2026, at the NBSC Covered Court. The gathering honored evaluators, faculty members, offices, and program champions who played key roles in the preparation and recognition of the College’s entries in the international ranking platform.
Among those recognized were the WURI evaluators who contributed to the review and consolidation of the institution’s submissions:
• Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa;
• Dr. Mary Cris J. Go;
• Ms. Maria Michaela Q. Jamora;
• Mr. Alven L. Gomez;
• Mr. Melven I. Valmoria;
• Ms. Roseanne B. Lontian;
• Mr. Julius S. Gabinete;
• Ms. Libra Mae D. Manzano;
• Ms. Shiela Mae M. Orozco;
• Ms. Marchilyn A. Abunda; and
• Ms. Helen B. Ajon.
The event also highlighted two initiatives that brought distinction to NBSC in the 2026 WURI rankings. Project MOCHA or Management of Coffee, Honey, and Adlay earned Top 18 in the C6 Category – Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved. This was initiated by Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden and Dr. Nathaniel C. Bantayan under the Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID), with Mr. Melven I. Valmoria serving as its champion.
Major team members of Project MOCHA included:
• Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa;
• Ms. Leah Mae S. Cuyno;
• Ms. Charlene O. Bulahan;
• Mr. Jan G. Soriano; and
• Mr. Reynan S. Salo.
Meanwhile, the TEP-SMART Leadership Mentoring Program, under the Institute for Teacher Education (ITE), secured Top 31 in the A1 Category – Student Support and Engagement. TEP-SMART stands for Transforming and Empowering Prime Movers through Sustainable Mentorship Accentuating Rectitude and Transformational Leadership. The program was initiated by Charry Mae C. Grepon and carried out with the support of the following champions:
• Ms. Charry Mae C. Grepon – Mentoring Program Focal Person;
• Dr. Christine C. Royo – ITE Program Head;
• Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa – Vice President for Academic Affairs; and
• ITE Faculty Members.
Also honored during the activity was Ms. Rowena E. Bagongon, MA, Director of the Student Affairs, Services, and Development Division (SASDD), for being elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS) for School Year 2026-2027 during the organization’s 30th National Conference and Training Workshop.
NBSC also extended its appreciation to several divisions, offices, and academic units for their cooperation and support in the development and completion of the institution’s WURI entries. These included:
• Student Affairs, Services, and Development Division;
• Curriculum and Instruction Division;
• Institute for Teacher Education;
• Institute for Business Management;
• Institute for Computer Studies;
• International Affairs and External Linkages Office;
• Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs;

• Research, Development, and Innovation Division; and
• Community Extension and Services Division.
The activity reflected the collective efforts of NBSC’s academic and administrative personnel in advancing initiatives that gained international attention through WURI 2026. With projects anchored on innovation, student development, and community engagement, the College continues to broaden its presence in global academic platforms while reinforcing its commitment to responsive and transformative education.
