NBSC HOLDS JOINT COMPLETION CEREMONY FOR ROTC, COQC, AND CWTS
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) celebrated a significant milestone in student development as it held the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Completion Ceremony for the Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026 at the NBSC Covered Court on May 15, 2026. Centered on the theme “Service and Patriotism in Action: NSTP Completers Ready to Serve the Nation,” the event officially recognized the hard work and discipline of the students under the Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC), the Cadet Officer Qualifying Course (COQC), and the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS).
The morning commenced with the Entrance of Colors, which was followed by the preliminaries and the presentation of a video synopsis highlighting the activities of the past academic year. The NSTP-CWTS completers and ROTC graduates were then officially presented to the assembly and declared as full-fledged graduates of their respective programs.
The new members of the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) took their Oath of Commitment under the leadership of Central Student Government (CSG) President and Student Trustee Dwight Ferdinand C. Navarro. Immediately after, 1LT Sheila Amata-Dy PA (RES), Charlie Company Commander 1003 RRIBn, guided the graduates through their Oath of Allegiance.
The program then moved to the distribution of certificates, starting with the bulk certificates of completion for the CWTS component. The ROTC sector followed, with certificates awarded across the Advance ROTC 1st Class, COQC, and Basic Cadets cohorts. Special awards were also distributed to outstanding individuals from both CWTS and ROTC. Recognizing that the military training component relies heavily on structured guidance, the institution presented Certificates of Recognition to the ROTC Training Staff, honoring the mentors who directed the cadets throughout the year.
Following the awards ceremony, 1LT Sheila Amata-Dy PA (RES) once again took the stage to deliver her message as the guest speaker, sharing insights on the true meaning of discipline and national service. She narrated an inspiring story of a boy who had lost his right arm but still dreamed of becoming a martial artist. Many dismissed and ridiculed him because of his dream, yet he pursued it with determination until a master took him under his tutelage. Through rigorous training, the boy eventually became an undefeated martial artist. From this story, 1LT Dy shared the acronym A.R.M., which stands for Advocacy, Reliance, and Mastery. She emphasized that believing in one’s aspirations, relying on one’s training, and practicing consistently to achieve mastery are essential in pursuing a chosen career.
Hon. Raquel Abales-Bayacag, Councilor of Manolo Fortich, then addressed the assembly on behalf of the Guest of Honor, Hon. Rogelio N. Quiño, Mayor of Manolo Fortich. She also left the audience with an acronym to remember: L.S.S.C., which stands for Lead with Integrity, Serve with Humility, Serve with Commitment, and Choose Unity.
The college extends its gratitude to Mayor Quiño, whose consistent support of local youth development initiatives remains highly valued by the campus community.
As the event neared its conclusion, John Mark L. Boyonas, MAEng, NSTP Coordinator, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing how the completion of the program marks the beginning of actual community service. The program wrapped up with the Exit of Colors, a Presentation of Ceremonial Parade at the open field, and a Send Off Ceremony.
By equipping these students with practical civic skills and a grounded sense of responsibility, NBSC strengthens its role in shaping capable citizens. The dedication shown by the completers brings a renewed energy to the campus, fostering a culture of active participation and community engagement that will influence future batches of students.
