NBSC-ITE FACULTY WINS BEST PRESENTER AWARD AT INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH FESTIVAL
Mr. Cedric S. Cubacub, a faculty member from Northern Bukidnon State College’s Institute for Teacher Education (NBSC-ITE), earned prestigious recognition at the Capitol University 2nd International Research Festival. During the event held on February 21, 2026, Mr. Cubacub was conferred the Best Presenter Award for his study on gendered language in educational materials.
The award-winning research, titled “The Hidden Curriculum of Identity: Decoding Gendered Language in English 9 Self-Learning Modules (SLM) and Its Pedagogical Implications in Philippine English Education,” offers a critical examination of how instructional tools shape student identity. By conducting a detailed analysis of textual content, the study identified specific patterns regarding gender representation, bias, and inclusivity within the context of Philippine English education.
Mr. Cubacub presented these findings to a distinguished panel of international scholars and educators, sparking rigorous academic discussion on the subtle influences of the “hidden curriculum” found in classroom modules. His work provides actionable insights for curriculum developers and educators seeking to promote more equitable and reflective learning experiences for Filipino students.
This international recognition brings pride to NBSC and highlights the specialized expertise that ITE faculty members bring to the institution. By supporting the participation of its members in global academic forums, the college continues to strengthen its culture of scholarly excellence and its commitment to fostering innovative contributions that address contemporary challenges in Philippine education.
