NBSC PARTICIPATES IN 1ST PEACE EDUCATION LEARNING EXCHANGE IN NORTHERN MINDANAO
Northern Bukidnon State College participated in the 1st Peace Education Learning Exchange conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X in partnership with the Council of Peace Educators-X (CPEd-X) and Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, on April 6-7, 2026, at the Little Theater, Xavier University Main Campus.
With the theme “Weaving Peace into Every Thread: Advancing and Innovating Pathways for Peace Education,” the activity gathered peace educators and academic leaders across Northern Mindanao to strengthen the integration of peace education in higher education institutions. The two-day learning exchange featured plenary sessions, workshops on peace education integration and teaching strategies, research discussions, and a “Peace Educators Mash-up” highlighting institutional best practices. It also included the general assembly for the review and ratification of the CPEd-X Constitution and By-Laws.
NBSC was represented by Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Alven L. Gomez, Community Extension Services Division (CESD) Director; Ms. Jee Ann Marie E. Guibone, Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Focal; and Mr. Ericko Jay M. Alciso, Peace Education Focal. Their participation highlights the College’s ongoing efforts to mainstream peace education, global citizenship education, and community engagement initiatives.
The delegation’s participation was strongly supported by College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, reaffirming NBSC’s commitment to advancing peace education and contributing to regional development. The activity further strengthened collaboration among higher education institutions and reinforced CHED’s advocacy for a culture of peace, inclusivity, and sustainable development in the region.
