NBSC Personnel Complete DOLE-Accredited Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training
Three key personnel from the Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) completed the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training Course, held from May 26 to 30, 2025, at the Polymedic Medical Plaza in Cagayan de Oro City.
Mr. Benzar Glen S. Grepon, the Supervising Administrative Officer; Mr. Karl Clyde Stephen Acosta, the College Nurse; and Mr. John Mark Boyonas, the NSTP Coordinator, attended the five-day training. The course was organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Network (OSHNet) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment—Occupational Safety and Health Center (DOLE-OSHC).
The BOSH training is a Safety Officer 2 (SO2) Certification, aimed at equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and manage workplace hazards. As part of the government’s commitment to strengthening workplace safety and health, this certification enables participants to assume responsibilities in maintaining safe learning and working environments in educational institutions like NBSC.
The training covered key areas such as hazard identification, risk assessment, control measures, workplace safety policies, and compliance with national occupational safety and health standards. Participants also engaged in practical exercises and group discussions, emphasizing preventive strategies and emergency preparedness.
NBSC congratulates Mr. Grepon, Mr. Acosta, and Mr. Boyonas for this significant milestone. Their proactive participation reaffirms the institution’s commitment to promoting safety, health, and well-being across all sectors of the college community.
