PAGPANGANDAM: STRENGTHENING DGEC FACULTY RESILIENCE AND READINESS FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER, A.Y. 2025–2026
Northern Bukidnon State College – Department of General Education Curricula (NBSC–DGEC) successfully conducted its Pagpangandam activity on January 7–8, 2026, anchored on the theme “Empowered by Resilience, Prepared for Academic Excellence.” The two-day preparatory initiative aimed to strengthen faculty resilience, enhance academic readiness, and renew focus as the department prepares for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.
The program formally opened with a welcome message from Ms. Niemfa Love W. Manginsay, DGEC Program Head, who emphasized the value of resilience in navigating challenges and conquering another semester with renewed commitment to excellence. A Kamustahan Circle facilitated by Ms. Genevieve Marie E. Bolanio, DGEC Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) Coordinator, provided a reflective space for faculty members to share their experiences and emotions on the recently concluded First Semester.
A series of key presentations filled the morning session, underscoring academic and institutional priorities. Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuessa, RDID Director, outlined the institution’s research agenda, policies, ongoing initiatives, and opportunities for scholarly growth and innovation, strengthening faculty engagement in research endeavors. Ms. Rahbie Adaptar-Teologo, OIC of the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), addressed human resource concerns, reinforcing adherence to institutional guidelines and procedures.
DGEC current and new faculty members, as well as administrative aides, were formally introduced in the afternoon session, followed by a comprehensive discussion on the JC3 faculty reclassification guidelines led by Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Cris Go, CID Director; and Mr. Alven Gomez, CESD Director. Thereafter, Mx. Franco Ceasar Agbalog, Head of the ATAO/SASAFAO, provided a short orientation on the Course Learning Outcome (CLO) crafting, particularly designed for newly hired Instructors. The first day concluded with cluster meetings to review course programs, refine CLOs, and plan culminating activities.
The second day featured an orientation on the CASTLE Learning Management System (LMS) facilitated by Mr. Reynan Salo, Teaching, Learning and Professional Development (TLPD) Coordinator, equipping faculty members to effectively manage instruction in a technology-mediated learning environment. Mr. Alven Gomez then delivered a presentation on Volunteerism, which magnified the importance of faculty involvement in community engagement initiatives. Subsequently, DGEC clusters presented their CLOs and culminating activities, showcasing their collaborative efforts and innovative strategies. The latter part of the program focused on DGEC’s Direction, and an Open Forum facilitated by Ms. Manginsay.
Overall, the Pagpangandam activity reinforced DGEC’s commitment to resilience, preparedness, and academic excellence, ensuring that faculty members are well-equipped, aligned, and united as they embark on the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.
