NBSC JOINS INTERNATIONALIZATION INITIATIVE FOR CANADA-PHILIPPINE LINKAGES
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) is among thirty Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines included in the project “Leading Internationalization: Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Canada-Philippine Linkages,” spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). The initiative brings together selected institutions through a combination of virtual and in-person engagements. Representing NBSC are Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice-President of Academic Affairs; Ms. Maria Michaela Q. Jamora, MS, Head of the International Affairs and External Linkages Office (IAELO); and Mr. Alven L. Gomez, MSEST, Director of the Community Extension Services Division (CESD).
The program opened with an online component from February 13–27, 2026, featuring interactive modules and discussions on cross‑border academic collaboration. This was followed by an in‑person leadership training from March 2–6, 2026, at the Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Manila. Ms. Jamora represented NBSC in workshops and dialogues designed to align college strategies with broader international initiatives. The sessions also offered a space for exchanging insights, testing ideas, and exploring approaches drawn from other participating teams, fostering a practical understanding of how collaboration can be translated into institutional planning.
NBSC’s participation places it within a select network working to enhance Canada‑Philippine academic linkages. Beyond immediate exchanges, the experience provides opportunities to observe different perspectives, identify emerging trends in higher education, and consider approaches that may be adapted to the College’s own programs. By engaging in these discussions and workshops, NBSC gains not only practical insights but also a broader view of how strategic international partnerships can shape academic growth, research opportunities, and community initiatives, supporting long-term planning while remaining responsive to global developments.
