NBSC participates in the SUC Fair 2023
The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) proudly participated in the annual State University and Colleges (SUC) Fair 2023, a noteworthy event initiated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) headed by CHED Chairman Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III and hosted by the West Visayas State University (WVSU) from July 10-13, 2023, at SM City, Iloilo. The CHED-initiated SUC Fair serves as a platform to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of stakeholders nationwide in advancing higher education, research, extension, and development. This year’s theme, “Navigating the Global Landscape through Innovations, Cultural and Arts Preservation, and Higher Education Quality,” has participated with 82 SUCs nationwide.
NBSC’s presence at the SUC Fair manifests the college’s commitment to excellence, research, extension, development, and the promotion of cultural heritage. Going beyond traditional academic offerings, the college took the opportunity to introduce and promote local products from the region, highlighting the diverse talents and resources of the area. Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, College President; Dr. Daniel S. Lerongan, Director of Quality Assurance; Caroline Laarni R. Serenas, Director of Research; Alven L. Gomez, Director of Extension; and Elaine Marie Ombina, Administrative Staff of IGP/INO proudly represented NBSC.
The Region 10 booth at the fair became a vibrant marketplace, featuring a curated collection of locally crafted products, each with its unique story. From delectable food items to distinctive handmade crafts, the booth aimed to celebrate the talents of local artisans and entrepreneurs, fostering a sense of pride within the community. Region 10 booth featured an array of handmade crafts, including “bayong,” textiles, and jewelry, representing the unique artistic expressions that thrive in the region. Visitors were captivated by the intricate details and fine craftsmanship of the Banog-Banog Festival Attire created by the local designer.
NBSC is proud to have showcased the remarkable products of our region at the SUC Fair 2023, the rich tapestry of our local community; we aim to instill a sense of pride and encourage the growth of our region’s economy. We are committed to fostering a strong connection between education, entrepreneurship, and the vibrant spirit of our community.
